史密斯本赛季只为热火队出场过1次，在5分37秒的出场时间里，得到2分、1个篮板和1次抢断。热火之所以放弃史密斯，改签罗宾逊，与中锋尤尔特塞文左脚踝发现骨刺将接受手术有直接关系，这位二年级中锋预计因此缺阵3个月。
